NEW HAVEN POLICE MAKE ARRESTS FOLLOWING EXCHANGE OF GUNFIRE AT BLVD AND LEGION

(12/2/2008) NEW HAVEN- At approximately 3:38 p.m. on Saturday, New Haven Police responded to the intersection of Ella Grasso Blvd. and Legion Avenue on a report of two vehicles shooting at one another. One vehicle subsequently crashed on the Boulevard and Legion where three males exited the vehicle and fled from the premises. All three subjects were apprehended and arrested in the are of 97 and 169 Porter Street. A handgun was recovered in the rear yard of 164 Porter Street. Arrested for this incident were:

20-year-old Jason Tomling of New Haven charged with criminal trespassing in the 3rd, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a pistol without a permit and criminal possession of a firearm; 26-year-old Michael Blake of New Haven charged with various narcotic-related charges and burglary in the 3rd; a 16-year-old New Haven resident charged with trespassing in the 3rd and 22-year-old Derrick Brock of New Haven charged with several narcotics related charges.
